Last year, Eaton retired from his active consulting role at Cini-Little after 45 years with the company. Eaton teamed with colleague Ted Farrand on the Mitsitam Native Foods Café at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., which was named Facility Design Project of the Year by FE&S in 2007.
“Bill Eaton is widely considered an expert in foodservice design and he remains a tireless supporter of the foodservice industry at large,” said Maureen Slocum, publisher of FE&S. “Bill has done a lot of good for the overall foodservice industry. He supports his supply chain partners and is known for creating win-win scenarios. Despite all of his success, Bill remains very well grounded and is held in high regard by his peers.”
Eaton is a past president and fellow of the Foodservice Consultants Society International. He is also a trustee and life member of the Cornell University Council. Eaton has held leadership roles with the Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management, the Society for the Advancement of Food Service Research and the Cornell Hotel Society, where he served as international president. He has been active as a judge for the National Restaurant Association’s Kitchen Innovations Award since its inception in 2004.
“Receiving this award is more than amazing and it means a lot to me, especially when you look at the people who have accepted it before me,” Eaton said.
