Unique Foods adds Pizza Fusion to its Portfolio

Unique Foods Corporation has acquired fast-casual concept Pizza Fusion, a gourmet concept with franchised locations in the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.

As part of the deal, Pizza Fusion becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Unique Foods Corporation. Pizza Fusion was the world's first restaurant chain to adopt organic restaurant certification; today it has franchised locations in the U.S. and in Saudi Arabia.

Pizza Fusion’s menu is 75 percent organic, per a company release, and includes gourmet sandwiches, salads, desserts, beer and wine. As part of its green business model, Pizza Fusion uses company owned hybrid cars when making deliveries, offsets its power consumption via the purchase of renewable wind energy certificates and builds restaurants to LEED certification standards.

Pizza Fusion is distinguished by its exceptionally green business model from delivering food in company owned hybrid vehicles, and offsetting 100 percent of its power consumption with the purchase of renewable wind energy certificates, to building restaurants to LEED certification standards.

Unique Foods’ other wholly owned subsidiaries include Jose Madrid Salsa, Unique Tap House & PopsyCakes.
