J.H. Whitney Capital Partners acquired a majority interest in Firebirds International from Angelo, Gordon & Co. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Firebirds' CEO Mark Eason, a restaurant industry veteran with nearly 40 years of experience, will continue in his current role.

Founded in 2000, Charlotte, N.C.-based Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is a polished-casual restaurant chain with 48 locations throughout the U.S. In 2017 Firebirds began rolling out a new prototype design.

J.H. Whitney also has ownership in Uncle Julio’s, a Mexican-themed casual restaurant chain.
