Kathleen Seelye to Receive FE&S’ Hall of Fame Award

CEO of Ricca Design Studios to receive honor from Foodservice Equipment & Supplies Magazine.

Foodservice Equipment & Supplies proudly announces that Kathleen Seelye, CEO for Colorado-based Ricca Design Studios, is the recipient of its 2018 Hall of Fame Award. Seelye has more than 30 years of culinary experience and joined Ricca in 1984. Working from Ricca Design Studios’ Denver headquarters, she provides leadership in the firm’s business and design practices both in the U.S. and in Shanghai. In addition, Seelye has served as the lead designer on 11 award-winning projects. In fact, Seelye was part of a project team that earned top honors in FE&S’ Facility Design Project of the Year competition in 2013 for her work on University of Wisconsin Madison – Union South. She has been a board member for the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers’ Customer Advisory Task Force, received the Market Mover Award from the Manufacturers’ Agents Association for the Foodservice Industry and regularly teaches at the National Association of College and University Foodservice’s Facility Management Institute focus on design. For more than 10 years Seelye also has served as a judge for the National Restaurant Association’s Kitchen Innovations awards.

Seelye was the first female elected to serve as president of the Foodservice Consultants Society International, the first woman elected to FCSI’s Council of Fellows and the first LEED certified foodservice consultant in the United States. She was also the first woman presented with FE&S’ Top Achiever- Consultant Award, which was then referred to as a Young Lion.

“I am truly honored to represent both Ricca Design Studios, the Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI), and the many incredibly capable women throughout our foodservice industry who are leading successful teams in this dynamic and ever-changing profession,” Seelye said.
