Service Tips for Food Processors

Food processors let operators prep huge amounts of food quickly and with great consistency. These units are relatively affordable compared to ovens and refrigerators, but if they fail, a kitchen can be thrown into chaos. Here are four tips to keep your food processor running smoothly.

  • Clean these units daily, and not just for basic sanitation. The juices from foods can seep into the electrical components, causing damage.
  • While these units can fit in a sink, train your staff to not wash them that way. The water exposure can destroy a unit.
  • Consider hand washing a machine’s plastic and rubber parts since the high temperature in ware washers can weaken them, causing premature failure.
  • Inspect the seal around the motor shaft to ensure it is maintaining its integrity. Have the seal replaced if needed.
