There have been coffee brewer improvements that have enhanced energy efficiency.

There are options for coffee brewers that help increase energy efficiency. With digital models, a feature is available that will put the unit into a sleep mode when it is idle for a certain period of time. When this occurs, the brewer's heating element allows the temperature to drop, conserving energy.

More efficient heating elements are available, in addition to units designed with better heat holding capability within the cavity.
