Johnson Ascends to Twin Peaks’ CEO Role FE&S FlashNews

Starlette Johnson is the new chief executive officer for Twin Peaks Restaurants, a 10-year-old concept with 73 locations. With Johnson joining Twin Peaks, company founder Randy DeWitt will remain active in the industry, spending more time with his other restaurant ventures that span 6 additional full-service concepts comprising 11 restaurants in the greater Dallas area, per a company release.

Yum! Brands to Spin Off Its China
Operation

In a deal that should pave the way for the multiconcept operator to become more of a pure-play franchisor of restaurants, Yum! Brands, Inc. plans to separate into two independent, publicly traded companies. Yum! China will become a franchisee of Yum! Brands in Mainland China with exclusive rights to three concepts: KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, the last of which is not yet in China. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2016.

Commercial kitchen equipment manufacturers Lancer and Blendtec have entered into a strategic agreement that will impact how the latter goes to market. Lancer will market, sell and provide after-sale service and support through Lancer’s existing Global Service Network for Blendtec’s commercial products, and will manufacture the commercial dispensing equipment. This agreement will commence on January 1, 2016.
