Long John Silver’s Lands Unger to Serve as COO

Restaurant industry veteran teams up with O’Reilly for the quick-serve seafood chain.

Quick-service seafood chain Long John Silver’s named Brian Unger its new chief operating officer.

He joins the organization with more than 30 years of experience in the food service industry.

A 30-plus-year veteran of the restaurant industry, Unger’s operations experience began hands on as a manager trainee at McDonald's where he was eventually promoted and served as senior vice president of McDonald’s USA and vice president of McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada.

After more than 25 years with McDonald’s, Unger joined the Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc. as chief operating officer, where he worked alongside James O'Reilly, who was appointed Long John Silver’s chief executive officer in February of this year.
