Le Duff America Reorganizes for Growth

The company nears the end of la Madeleine refranchising, sells Bruegger’s Bagels and primes Brioche Doree for U.S. launch.

With la Madeline French Bakery & Cafe refranchising initiatives nearly complete, Dallas-based Le Duff America has its eyes set toward expansion with the U.S. launch of Brioche Doree. The company appointed its first U.S.-based president for the French-style fast food brand in mid-August.

Le Duff also announced the sale of Bruegger’s Bagels to Caribou Coffee. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the transaction is expected to be complete by the end of September. Le Duff purchased Bruegger’s in 2011.

La Madeline franchisee HZ LM Casual Foods purchased 26 of the la Madeline sites, adding locations in Houston; Austin, Texas; and Louisiana. The Sugar Land, Texas-based HZ LM Casual Foods also secured the rights to add another 57 new la Madeleine locations.

Amin Dhanani leads HZ LM Casual Foods. He additionally serves as general partner of The Dhanani Group, which ranks as one of the largest restaurant franchisees with both Burger King and Popeyes Lousiana Kitchen brands in its portfolio.

Le Duff America Inc. is the Dallas-based affiliate of Groupe Le Duff.
