Foodservice Equipment & Supplies proudly announces that Mark Freeman, senior manager of global dining services at Microsoft Corporation, is the recipient of its 2017 Hall of Fame Award. Freeman will accept his award during FE&S’ 2017 Dealer of the Year and Industry Awards Gala, which will take place May 20 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago.
Freeman has been with Microsoft the past 11-plus years. His professional background includes managing corporate dining with Hewlett Packard and as a consultant in the college and university sector. He is a past president of the Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management, was the John L. Hennessey traveler in 2016 and recently received the Richard Ysmael Distinguished Service Award. And in 2012 he and the Microsoft team won a Silver Plate Award from the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association.
“Under Mark Freeman’s leadership Microsoft’s Global Dining Services team continues to raise the bar for excellence and professionalism among business and industry foodservice operations,” said Joseph Carbonara, FE&S’ editorial director. “One of Mark’s hallmarks is the way he collaborates with other industry segments. He likes to share what he’s learned for the better of the industry. This type of transparency only makes the foodservice industry more effective and efficient in its delivery of hospitality to its customers and illustrates Mark’s leadership capabilities.”
