Middleby Buys Broiler Maker

Multi-line foodservice equipment manufacturer adds broiler maker to its line of cooking equipment.

The Middleby Corporation (NASDAQ: MIDD) has acquired Nieco Corporation, a manufacturer of automatic broilers for the commercial foodservice industry. Nieco has annual revenues of approximately $20 million and is headquartered in Windsor, Calif., according to a Middleby release.

Founded in 1905, Nieco recently announced a new concept in broilers, BroilVection, a patented technology that combines radiant broiling, natural convection and focused forced convection air. Nieco customers include large quick service restaurants.
