Darden Agrees to Buy Yard House

The 39-unit restaurant chain will become part of Darden's Specialty Restaurant Group.

In a deal valued at $585 million, Darden Restaurants, Inc. (DRI) has agreed to acquire Yard House U.S.A., Inc., a restaurant chain with 39 locations spread across 13 states averaging approximately $8.4 million in revenue per unit, according to a company release.

Upon completion of the deal, Yard House will become part of Darden's Specialty Restaurant Group, along with such brands as Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52 and Eddie V's.

Yard House's leadership team is expected to join Darden and continue leading the concept's day-to-day operation. Harald Herrmann, president and CEO of Yard House, will retain the same title.
