Somat Acquires Master Disposers

By Staff -- Foodservice Equipment and Supplies, 3/19/2008

Lancaster, Pa.-based Somat Co., an ITW Food Equipment Group manufacturer of waste handling systems, announced the acquisition of Master Disposers Inc., in Cincinnati.  This marks Somat’s second acquisition in the past several years. In October of 2006 the company purchased Murfreesboro, Tenn.-based Red Goat Disposers, which manufactures waste disposers and controls for the foodservice industry.

Somat execs plan to support both the Master Disposer and Red Goat brands independently. All sales and service channels will remain intact, company execs said in a press release.
