Frisch's Agrees to Sell Golden Corral Business Segment

NRD Holdings expands its brand portfolio to include this casual dining chain.

Frisch's Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE Amex: FRS) agreed to sell the assets of its Golden Corral operations and real estate holdings consisting of restaurants in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania to NRD Holdings, LLC. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of the company's fiscal year ending May 29, 2012, subject to customary financing, due diligence and closing contingencies.

Atlanta-based NRD Holdings, LLC, operates a variety of chain restaurants and concepts in Georgia, Florida, Arizona, and California. Brands NRD operates include Popeyes, Checkers/Rally's and Domino's.
