Restaurant chains BJ's Restaurants, Cheesecake Factory, Famous Dave's, Landry's and Popeyes continue to heat up the summer months with expansion and opertional news.
BJ's Restaurants, Inc. (Nasdaq:BJRI - News) opened a BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse in College Station, Texas.
The Cheesecake Factory (NASDAQ:CAKE - News) opened a location in Short Hills, N.J. The 10,000 square foot location seats 277 people.
Famous Dave's of America, Inc. (Nasdaq:DAVE - News) opened a restaurant in Portland, Ore., its second location in the state.
Landry's Inc. has entered into a confidentiality agreement with McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants, Inc. (Nasdaq:MSSR - News) to conduct diligence that could lead to a possible merger or acquisition transaction between the two companies. The confidentiality agreement requires Tilman J. Fertitta to terminate his previously announced tender offer to acquire McCormick & Schmick's through his affiliate LSRI Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of Landry's, Inc.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen opened its 2,000th restaurant system. The newest location is in Memphis, Tenn.
