Starbucks added an automatic machine to its Auto Espresso program.
The Starbucks-branded unit features four flavor infusions at the touch of a button and the ability to dispense hot beverages. The machine can also prepare 164 possible beverage combinations in a more compact size to save space. Operators have noted faster speed of service as well as decreased labor and training needs as a result of the more automated system, according to Starbucks. The machine has also helped control portion sizes, which has cut down on waste and helped boost profit margins at individual stores.
