Tundra Specialties Acquires Cen Tex Supply Co.

Tundra Specialties continues to grow through this acquisition of a local company.

Tundra Specialties Inc., a Boulder, Colo.-based distributor of restaurant parts, and foodservice equipment and supplies, has purchased Cen Tex Supply Company, a provider of commercial disposables, paper products and cleaning chemicals.

During the next 60 days, the two organizations will work to consolidate their businesses and will, in the interim, function as they have. After July 1, both companies will be consolidated into the Tundra Specialties corporate structure and the Cen Tex brand will go away.

Tom McCarthy, former owner of Cen Tex, will serve as vice president of sales for Tundra Specialties' disposable product offerings. As a result of the acquisition Tundra will now have eight street sales people in addition to its national accounts managers. And the Cen Tex operation will move into the current Tundra location at 3825 Walnut St in Boulder. Tundra plans to expand its distribution facility to 64,000 square feet to accommodate the additional product offering, according to a company release.
