Participating in a bankruptcy auction, Milford, Conn.-based Franchise Brands, LLC submitted a successful bid to purchase Taco Del Mar, a quick-service Mexican-themed restaurant with more than 200 locations. A bankruptcy judge has approved the sale of the Seattle-based company. The sale is expected to close by the end of the month.
Taco Del Mar will be the second foodservice company in Franchise Brands portfolio, with the other being Mama Deluca’s Pizza Now, a QSR pizza concept that is often co-branded with Subway restaurants. Franchise Brands also has a partnership with Mooya Burgers Fries and Shakes, a Texas-based upscale burger concept.
Franchise Brands is a company that either owns or works with organizations that looks to grow via franchising. The company was created by the founders of the Subway restaurant chain.
