In a deal involving two distributors of foodservice equipment parts, Parts Town has acquired PartsXpress from Smart Care Equipment Solutions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

As part of this acquisition, Parts Town will become the primary supplier of genuine OEM parts to Smart Care Equipment Solutions. For its part, Smart Care Equipment Solutions will remain an independent service company.

This deal comes amid what appears to be a busy period of mergers and acquisitions in the service sector of the foodservice equipment industry. For example, Smart Care’s sale of PartsXpress comes shortly after the company purchased two service agencies: Alpro Service Agency and REMCO. And in May of this year, Parts Town purchased the parts distribution and field service assets from 3Wire.
