Hurricane Wings Sold to FAT Brands

In a move aimed to increase its presence in the fast-casual restaurant segment, FAT Brands Inc. will acquire Hurricane Grill & Wings for $12.5 million. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.

Established in 1995, Hurricane Grill & Wings operates more than 60 locations throughout the U.S. Chicken wings paired with more than 35 signature sauces and rubs serves as the cornerstone of its menu, which also includes fries, tacos and burgers. “Their new fast casual brand Hurricane BTW (burgers, tacos and wings) has a significant franchise development pipeline and will nicely diversify the company into more fast-casual venues,” said Andy Wiederhorn, president and CEO of FAT Brands.

FAT (which stands for Fresh. Authentic. Tasty.) Brands franchises a variety of restaurant concepts, including Fatburger, Buffalo’s Cafe, Buffalo’s Express and Ponderosa & Bonanza Steakhouses.
