Former Papa John's executive joins the donut chain.
Tony Thompson will become the president and chief executive officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, effective June 1, 2014. James Morgan, the company's previous president and CEO, will remain with Krispy Kreme as its executive chairman.
Thompson joins Krispy Kreme from Papa John's International, Inc., where he most recently served as president and chief operating officer. His background also includes working with Scotts Miracle-Gro Company and Conagra Grocery Products Company.
