Whataburger's Rutledge to become CEO.

Clifton Rutledge will become the new chief executive officer for Bojangles' Restaurants, effective January 24, 2014. Additionally, Bojangles' promoted Kenny Avery to chief operations officer from senior vice president of company operations.

Rutledge succeeds Randy Kibler, who back in September announced his plans to retire from the role of CEO. KIbler will retain his position as chairman of Bojangles' board of directors.

A 30-year veteran of the restaurant industry, Rutledge most recently served as chief operations officer Whataburger.
