Minnow Makes a Splash at LaGuardia

Minnow, a raw bar inspired by chef Andrew Carmellini opened in LaGuardia Airport's Terminal D. Carmellini, known for restaurants Locanda Verde and The Dutch, and author of Urban Italian, was brought on by airport restaurateur OTG to create the menu for this new space.

MinnowMinnow is the latest in a series of chef-driven concepts in the terminal. The 385-square-foot space includes bar seating for about a dozen guests, with each seat offering an iPad for ordering, tracking flights, and browsing the web. Television screens are built into a media strip that lines the back wall with a mirror anchored at the center, tilted 90 degrees to reflect the fresh seafood available at the raw bar. The space is bookended by metal panels, and features industrial accents from the stools to the exposed bolts on the bar die.
