Remembering Tony Mazur

Mazur was a founding member of MAFSI.

Longtime rep and former MAFSI president Anthony (Tony) Mazur of A.E. Mazur Associates in Philadelphia passed away on Jan. 4 at the age of 97.

In 1949 Mazur became a founding member of the Manufacturers Agents' Association for the Foodservice Industry, making him the organization's longest standing member.

MAFSI named its summit award after Mazur and the organization presents it to an individual agent member who has consistently performed and demonstrated sincere interest, effort, leadership and given time to the welfare and progress of the association and the enhancement of the manufacturers' agents' function and position in the industry.

Known for his humor, leadership and dedication to people and to the foodservice industry, Mazur served as president of MAFSI from 1970-71 and was the first recipient of the Tony Award in 1973. He is the most awarded member of MAFSI, receiving the Pacesetter Award in 1998 and the Lifetime Membership Award in 2007, according to the association.

Tony was predeceased by Victoria, his wife of more than 60 years.
