ALI Group Buys Scotsman Industries

Private-equity firm Warburg Pincus sells ice machine business.

ALI Group, a multi-line foodservice equipment manufacturer, has reached an agreement to acquire Scotsman Industries, a manufacturer of commercial ice machines under the Ice-O-Matic and Scotsman brand names from private equity firm Warburg Pincus. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Scotsman Industries' management, sales and support teams are expected to make the transition to the ALI Group.

"I'd also like to thank Warburg Pincus for their partnership in helping us grow our business and solidify our leadership position in the commercial ice machine industry."

Warburg Pincus acquired Scotsman Industries in 2009 from Manitowoc.
