Chain Operating Report for August 7, 2012

Several chains report operating results, while another opens a location on a military base.

Denny's Corporation reported that system-wide same-store sales grew 0.8 percent for its second fiscal quarter, which marks the fifth consecutive quarter that system-wide same-store sales have been positive, according to a company release. During the second quarter Denny's opened nine franchised units, including two international units — one each in the Dominican Republic and Canada.

Dunkin' Donuts, signed a pair of multi-unit store development agreements with two franchise groups to develop 24 new restaurants in Alabama over the next several years. Dunkin' Donuts also opened a new location on the Ft. Bliss U.S. Army base at in Ft. Bliss, Texas, operated by the Army and Airforce Exchange Service.

For its second fiscal quarter ending July 3, 2012, Jamba, Inc. reported quarterly comparable sales increased 5.7 percent, the company's seventh consecutive quarter of system-wide store sales growth. During the quarter, Jamba opened 13 new stores, including six in international markets.

Yoshinoya America, Inc., a quick-service restaurant chain with franchises in California and Nevada, opened its second Asiana Grill Yoshinoya in Los Angeles.
