Chain Operating Report for Sept. 28

From opening to new locations to new partnerships to unveiling new growth plans, this chain operating report has a little something for everyone.

BJ's Restaurants, Inc. (NASDAQ:BJRI) opened a restaurant in Pembroke Pines, Fla.

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services and Pinkberry, the iconic premium frozen yogurt brand, announced their partnership and grand opening of Pinkberry locations on three college campuses. Students at Radford University in Virginia, Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and Valdosta State University in Georgia will be enjoying everything that Pinkberry has to offer.

The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated (NASDAQ: CAKE) opened a restaurant in San Mateo, Calif., that contains approximately 8,500 square feet and 251 seats.

Domino's Pizza (NYSE:DPZ), has added a series of artisan pizzas to its menu: spinach and feta, Italian sausage and pepper trio and Tuscan salami and roasted veggie.

Pizza Inn, Inc. (NASDAQ:PZZI) announced plans to expand its fast-casual concept, Pie Five Pizza Co., targeting eight additional new locations in Dallas-Fort Worth over the next nine months and continuing development of up to 15 more company-owned restaurants over the next 18 to 24 months. The company also expects to begin awarding franchises in October 2011 in top tier markets throughout the United States. The announcement comes after a successful opening of the first Pie Five restaurant last June in Fort Worth, Texas.

UFood Restaurant Group, Inc. (OTC.BB: UFFC.OB) has partnered with Nutritionix, a nutrition information software company, to launch an online nutrition calculator available via the restaurant chain's website. The customizable nutrition calculator allows consumers to select their meal choices, and then generates a complete nutritional profile – including calories, fat, sodium and carbohydrates – for all of the items in the meal.
