Ali Group Buys Beverage-Air
May 16, 2008
And so it begins. Each year, it seems, on the eve of the National Restaurant Association Show, we starting hearing some whispers about one equipment manufacturer acquiring another. It does not take much to turn those whispers into full-blown rumors that can dominate the equipment and supplies-oriented discussion during the course of the show.
This year, however, we have one of those rare instances where a major deal has been struck in the hours before the show opens: The Ali Group has announced the acquisition of Beverage-Air’s commercial foodservice equipment business from Carrier Commercial Refrigeration.
According to a company release, this acquisition includes the Beverage-Air operations in Brookville, Pa., and the foodservice operations in Spartanburg, S.C.
This marks the second major acquisition by the Ali Group in the past year. Last October, the company acquired Aga Foodservice’s commercial foodservice and bakery business.
