Chain Expansion Report

BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse opened a location in Mesquite, Texas, bringing the chain’s total stores systemwide to 85. 

Dunkin’ Donuts signed a lease agreement with Verona Key LLC for the development of multiple restaurants in greater Kansas City, Mo. The first location is expected to open in 2009 at 7720 W. 151st St. in Overland Park.

Northern California-based Mary’s Pizza Shack announced plans to launch a new company under the leadership of Cully Williamson, the grandson-in-law of founder Mary Fazio. Later this year, Williamson will lead the development of a new fast-casual restaurant concept that will offer a menu of contemporary Italian cuisine, including brick-oven-roasted chicken and other meats, plus signature pizzas.

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. opened a store in Lakewood, Wash. 

UFood Restaurant Group, Inc., signed a lease agreement with Westfield Concession Management for a UFood Grill Restaurant in Boston’s Logan International Airport Terminal C. The company also announced that its main Chicago franchisee, which operates three stores, will terminate its agreement with the company.
