Centerplate Inc. appointed Desmond Hague president and chief executive officer, replacing Janet Steinmayer, who retired after 16 years with the company. Hague comes to the company from IHOP, a division of DineEquity Inc., where he served as president for just less than a year.
Jim Peros, IHOP’s senior vice president of operations, will serve as the chain’s interim president until a successor is found.
Hague had replaced Julia Stewart as president of IHOP in July 2008 following a buyout of the Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar chain, at which point Stewart moved to become chairman and CEO of DineEquity Inc., the parent company for both chains.
