Del Taco President to Step Down

By FE&S Staff -- Foodservice Equipment & Supplies, 10/7/2008 3:41:00 PM

Del Taco announced Shirlene Lopez, president and chief operating officer, plans to leave the company this year. Nick Shepard, chairman and chief executive officer of Sagittarius Brands, the parent company, will assume Lopez’s duties with no immediate plans to fill the vacant position.

Lopez, who will reach her 30th anniversary with the company on Nov. 17, started at Del Taco mopping floors at the age of 14 and moved up the ranks to become president. She will continue to serve the business in a consulting capacity, and will work with senior management in such areas as menu development and government relations, particularly legislative issues.
