Chain Expansion Report

Einstein Bros. and other chains release expansion information.
- BJ’s Restaurants opened a location in Baton Rouge, La., the company’s 72nd restaurant systemwide.
- California Pizza Kitchen opened a location in Portland, Ore., bringing the total number of stores systemwide to 239.
- Einstein Bros. Bagels signed an agreement to open five restaurants within the next five years in the state of Texas, specifically in counties north of Dallas. The chain also signed an agreement with Aramark to open during the next few years an undisclosed amount of Aramark operating locations across the country, including college campuses and corporate offices.
- Red Robin Gourmet Burgers opened a restaurant in Smyrna, Tenn., its seventh location in that state. The chain also opened a location in Covington, Wash., marking the company’s 400th location in North America.
- Boston-based UFood Restaurant Group Inc., a franchisor and operator of fast-casual food restaurants and nutritional product retail stores, announced the first location in the Chicago metro area has broken ground downtown. This is the first of five locations to be developed and operated by franchisee Carl Dissettte.
