Chain Expansion Report

Benihana, Pizza Inn and other chains release expansion information.
- Benihana reopened restaurants in Dallas and Houston that were closed for renovations. The company also opened an RA Sushi restaurant in Plano, Texas, and another RA Sushi restaurant in Pembroke Pines, Fla. The company operates 88 restaurants nationwide, including 60 Benihana tepanyaki restaurants, nine Haru sushi restaurants and 19 RA Sushi Bar restaurants.
- The Cheesecake Factory opened a restaurant in Roseville, Calif., brining the total number of restaurants systemwide to 141.
- Pizza Inn signed a development agreement with franchisee Four Star Foods to open six operations in the Houston market beginning late this summer. The chain also announced the reopening of a buffet restaurant in Shelby, N.C.
- Pollo Campero opened its first Wal-Mart location. The chain has plans to open more than 20 such locations across the country by the end of 2009.
- Red Robin Gourmet Burgers opened a restaurant in Manassas, Va., marking the chain’s 15th Virginia restaurant.
