Middleby Acquires European Equipment Manufacturers

The Middleby Corp. announced it purchased two European cooking equipment companies: FriFri aro SA from the Franke Group and Giga Grandi Cucine, S.r.1. FriFri manufactures frying systems, while Giga Grandi’s product line includes ranges, ovens and steam cooking equipment.

At the present time, Middleby plans to focus on maintaining Giga and FriFri’s strong distribution throughout Europe, rather than distributing the products throughout the U.S. .

These are the first acquisitions made by Middleby this calendar year, although the Elgin, Ill.-based equipment manufacturer purchased four manufacturers in 2007, including: Star Manufacturing, Jade Range, Wells Bloomfield (Carrier Commercial) and Carter-Hoffmann.
