Starbucks Announces Restructuring

In the wake of several corporate restructuring efforts, Starbucks named Cliff Burrows, currently president of its Europe, Middle East and Africa operating units, president of Starbucks U.S.A. Burrows is expected to assume his new position today, according to a company release.

Burrows succeeds Launi Skinner, who has resigned. After beginning his career with Starbucks in April 2001 as vice president and managing director, UK, Burrows moved up to the position of president, EMEA in April 2006. 

The coffee giant also announced other realignments, including the following:

*Chris Carr, senior vice president, Northwest/Mountain; previously regional vice president, South Central
*Cos LaPorta, SVP, Western/Pacific; previously SVP, Western
*Jim McDermet, SVP, Northeast/Atlantic; previously SVP, U.S. Store Services
*Paul Twohig, SVP, Southeast/Plains; previously SVP, Eastern
