How to Extend an Air Curtain’s Life Cycle

Despite being simple units that require minimal maintenance, foodservice operators should still take several simple steps to ensure years of smooth operation.
Please note that the list below contains general maintenance information and should not be substituted for the manufacturer’s requirements and recommendations.
1. Periodically check air curtains for dust accumulation. For most units, monthly dusting is recommended.
2. Regularly wash the air curtain’s filter.
3. Clean intake louvers to prevent dust from collecting and clogging the air intake, which causes vibration and motor burnout.
4. Blower wheels need to be consistently cleaned. If dirt collects on the wheels and unbalances them, the unit will noisily vibrate. This can pull the motor shaft out of alignment, causing motor burn-out.
