• Burger King signed a deal with BK Asiapac, Pte. Ltd., the wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, and DaChan Great Wall Group to further expansion in Taiwan.
• California Pizza Kitchen opened a location in Raleigh-Durham International Airport, operated by HMSHost Corp.
• The Cheesecake Factory opened a restaurant in Towson, Md. The location spans 10,700-square-feet and has 290 seats.
• Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. announced its Hong Kong franchisee will be liquidated, which will include nine locations in that area. However, the chain has signed other franchise development agreements for the Republic of Turkey and Malaysia as well as Shanghai, Beijing, and Tianjin, China.
• T.G.I. Friday’s announced plans to open three restaurants within casinos in Las Vegas during the next six weeks, including Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall, Suncoast Hotel, and Aliante Station Casino + Hotel, in addition to the location at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, which opened on Oct. 20.
